Mini First (2009)
Having recently celebrated its 50th, the Mini brand seems to be getting stronger and stronger, despite the credit-crunched times we live in. One of the reasons for this is some seriously sensible strategy on behalf of BMW with the introduction of the Mini First. The First is the new entry-level Mini, it has a lower-powered version of the 1.4-litre petrol engine which may not give it massive levels of speed but with prices starting from £10,950 it is considerably more credit crunch friendly than many other vehicles out there at the moment. The car is also reported as having impressive fuel economy with emissions of 128g/km which puts putting the First in Band D for road tax, which will cost £120 a year. If I was 18 again and had just passed my test I know what I would be asking for.
